The Glasgow2018 European Championship Women’s Time Trial route will see some of the world’s best female cyclists set off from Glasgow’s iconic Riverside Museum before heading up through north Glasgow, East Dunbartonshire, Torrance and Bishopbriggs, ending in an exciting finishing straight on Glasgow Green in front of roaring city crowds.
The Women’s Time Trial is at 9am on Wednesday 8th August – come along and watch it live on BBC with a coffee and a cake at our Blane Valley Bikes Launch event at Edmonstone Hall in Blanefield. Enjoy a safe, happy and car-free community atmosphere and help support this important project.

We’re thrilled to find out that the 2018 European Cycling Road Championships will see some of Europe’s elite road cyclists race through the streets of Strathblane on Wednesday 8 August 2018! With a potential television audience of up to 1.03 billion across Europe set to watch the action, Glasgow and Scotland will again be in the spotlight during these free events.
BV Bikes will be hosting a series of drop-in events ahead of the Time Trial – these are a fantastic opportunity to find out more about what we are hoping to do and also ask any questions about the upcoming championships. The events are scheduled to take place in Edmonstone Hall, Glasgow Road on Saturday 4th August and Sunday 4th August from 10am.
The A81 to Milngavie and of the A891 to Haughhead will be closed at 11am and reopened ‘in a phased manner’ from 4pm.
